Such things include the quality and sheen of paper, color of paper and ink and font variations. These seemingly minor details can make the difference between a cherished memento and a disappointing and costly mistake.

Ready to Shop? Ask yourself these questions when considering an invitation:

• Is the quality and weight of the paper appropriate? Paper can come in very thin (see through) or very thick (card-like) stock. Consider the event, durability, your style and postage when making your decision. 

• What type of sheen will the invitation have? Sheen can vary from very shiny to mat finishes. 

• Does the lettering font fit the event? For instance, a very fancy script would not be appropriate for an informal gathering; likewise, playful fonts won’t fit your formal wedding.

• What color do you want the paper and ink? The color of paper and ink can vary widely from manufacturer. Make sure you are working with a professional who can assist in the selection and provide samples. Paper and ink can also have a unique scent, so you will want to make sure that whatever items you choose do not offend your olfactories!
